Jetlag Blows!

So I am writing on my third day in Oxford...in the morning after breakfast. Let me tell you...I was not feeling super great yesterday. No need to worry because I am thinking it was just jetlag. I took three naps yesterday (all short ones when I had a little break) and thank goodness because we were out until about 2. I thought that if I got a good nights sleep the first night here and woke up for breakfast I would be set, but I was assured it takes longer than that so I am not worried.

We had a couple of orientations to the library system yesterday. The Trinity College Library (where I am staying) is pretty small but it has most of my books and seems like a good place to study! The Bodleian library is Oxford's overarching library for all the colleges. This is where they filmed a lot of the scenes for Harry Potter (pictures to come when I have time which may not be for a while)! I can't really figure out the catalogue system there and since most of my books are in Trinity, I don't think I will be spending too much time in there. We had lunch at another sandwich place which was good and then walked around for a little bit. There are so many restaurants here that I don't know if I will be able to try them all! Dinner was pizza and hamburgers although I must admit the cheeseburger I had tasted kind of funny...haha. After dinner we finally settled in to get a little work done before going out for a night on the town (unfortunately I think the people in the pub were not fans of us loud Americans....and there were like 30 of us there). I did find another study group so thats good news and I think I might go to Paris this weekend! So on to my question....

I am having a hard time deciding how to balance here. If I were back home there is no way I would consider a weekend away where I won't do any work if I have 2 papers due the next week. But I am in Europe and I want to have the opportunity to explore as much as I can. So I am at a loss...any suggestions? (not just about the weekend trip but how to balance in general) Just leave a comment!
